I Want to be a Stepford Wife

Howdy! I have never watched the movie The Stepford Wives until last night.
When I study and do homework I always need to have background noise, usually a movie. So I put on Stepford Wives and was already hooked at about 20 minutes in.
I adore the clothes and think Glen Close is too cute!
Makes me want to drop what I am doing and go sew.

I am supposed to be working on my Halloween costume (1 1/2 weeks left) but for some reason I am just not feeling it anymore... Maybe I will just wear some of my wings that day and be a mermaid next year.

Since I am limited on free time these days I feel like when I get a chance to sew I would rather it went to something I can wear everyday.

Plus, I need to have my dress finished by November 9th because I have to attend an induction ceremony. I can't show up in a mermaid skirt =P

So, about that induction ceremony... I have some great news! A few weeks ago I received a letter from my Community College saying I am invited to join Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. I accepted and will be officially inducted on November 9th. I want so badly to be wearing my own dress that night.

I am so proud that my hard work in school is paying off. I have no shame in my being a nerd and can't wait to wear the PTK regalia at graduation in 2 years.

I am half way done with my current semester, only 8 weeks left.

In other academic news, my Penny graduated from beginner courses at Petsmart dog school yesterday!

I'm so proud of my girl! She really has made so much progress.

She also seemed to be very proud of herself. She knew she did well.
Her teacher gave her a congratulatory toy and when we got home she squeaked it all around the house for an hour (which is abnormal for her.) She was really happy!

My Theadora is also an "alumni" of Petsmart beginner classes. She graduated back in 2010, before I ever started this blog.

  1. Congratulations on your induction! Never apologize for being a nerd. You're an intelligent, capable, talented woman. THAT's how to describe yourself!! Congrats as well to your fur babies. What an academic household you have!!
